We are continuing to work on our FANTASTIC Christmas giveaway series! You are not going to want to miss it. RJ is ironing out some of the details. (We’re a team, I do scheduling duties and Webmaster and RJ keeps up with our contacts- of course we both write and brainstorm fun ideas). Make sure to check back in with us because we are going to be running giveaways in this series throughout the holidays! We’ve already given away one great prize, our second giveaway will soon be closing and we have 10 more prizes to give away!
So today, I (Kari) will catch you up on a holiday event that we attended recently.
The Enchanted Forest sponsored by the Junior League of Northern Virginia. I’m always impressed with the organization that these ladies put into their events. We first learned of the JLNV several years ago when we participated in their Strides for Success 5k. I love that the JLNV comes up with such neat event ideas as a 5k or hosting a beautiful display of Christmas trees as a way to raise money to benefit local communities.
The Enchanted Forest was comprised of many different activity choices such as gingerbread workshops, a variety of children’s entertainment, the Mistletoe Masquerade ball (more on that in a minute) and most importantly a collection of beautiful trees.
The trees were all decorated by JLNV members to correspond to a certain theme and could be bid on and won. We saw a Downton Abbey tree (our favorite), cooking themed trees, sports themed trees- they were so cool. There were so many different kinds of trees that you were bound to find something that lined up with your personal interest. Each tree in addition to being decorated in a specific them contained neat items such as books, makeup and DVDs along with tickets and vouchers for different meals and experiences. I was really impressed with the trees in the children’s area. The American Girl tree, Hello Kitty tree, Disney Princess tree and the Ballet tree were some of my favorites!
The Mistletoe Masquerade held that evening had dancing, food and Las Vegas style gaming. Plus, you got another look at the marvelously decorated trees!
These ladies really know Christmas trees and next year if you are looking for some family fun and want to help raise money to benefit the community make sure to check out The Enchanted Forest, just don’t be surprised if you see me hanging around the TV and movie themed trees!
Kari & RJ Liked: The trees! They were so well decorated and so much fun to look at!
( We were provided with complimentary media tickets to the events of The Enchanted Forest. All opinions are our own.)
