Holidays: Christmas Television, Movies and Music

Christmas is really almost here! I (Kari) have so many things to do! I’ve got cleaning, decorating, cooking, baking, gift wrapping- so many things to do! We don’t even have our tree up yet! 2013 has been a really difficult year for us between moving, losing our daughter Taylor, physically dealing with the pregnancy and miscarriage, dealing with my health problems and so many other crazy things. We’re thankful to be together and just have some time to relax. So I’m simplifying this year. If my tree doesn’t get put up until Christmas Eve-so what? We’re warm, safe and happy together!

We will be celebrating our blessings this year: our new home, Taylor, this blog, and each other. But we want to remember our biggest blessing, our personal relationships with Jesus Christ and his gift of salvation. It’s always astounding to take time to think of the beauty of the life of Jesus from being a tiny baby in a stable, to dying and rising again to give the gift of forgiveness and new life. I can rejoice this Christmas even in the death of my daughter because I know that because of forgiveness of my sins through Jesus and his blood- I will see her again. Someday RJ and I will hold our daughter and celebrate Jesus and his victory over sin. How could we not be happy with that prospect? How couldn’t we want to celebrate the birth of Jesus? He’s truly the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

We love music and movies so those are always a big part of any celebration. If you’re looking for something fun to watch or some great music to listen to check these out!

Merry Christmas from both of us!

Kari and RJ

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:11-14
