The Grammy Awards are always outrageous. As music’s brightest stars trod the red carpet we’re treated to an array of fabulous as well as outlandish. My Grammy Fashion 2014 report is somewhat sparse in regard to female style. But, thankfully some my music and red carpet favorites rose the occasion with some really lovely ensembles. Here are my favorite looks of the evening.
Sarah Hyland in Emilio Pucci
Sarah’s red carpet style for 2014 has been amazing (see SAG Awards, Golden Globes) and her Grammy dress is no exception. While we’ve mostly seen her in long, light colored gowns, I’m thrilled to see her wear something more graphic. This black and white Pucci is fun and sophisticated. Her updo is fabulous and I love the dramatic red lip. Sarah is definitely one of my red carpet faves
Ariana Grande in Dolce & Gabbana
This girl is adorable! I love the floral print and the retro full skirt. Seriously, how could she not look adorable with her fabulous hair? Her Aldo pumps are also very stylish.
Pink in Johanna Johnson
This dramatic red gown is elegant and the patchwork adds beautiful artisan flair.
Rita Ora in Lanvin
How perfect is a gold dress for the Grammys? Rita looks fun and classy in this beautiful, fitted cocktail length dress. I would love to add a dress like this to my wardrobe.
Sara Bareilles in Blumarine
I love this outfit so much. Sara truly looks like a wild princess. From her Katniss Everdeen inspired braided hair to her glittery red pumps and especially her beautiful, perfectly shaggy natural colored gown.
Taylor Swift in Gucci Premiere
Oh, Taylor Swift is my golden girl. This Gucci chain medal gown is absolutely stunning in its craftsmanship and cut. Her hair and makeup are perfect for this look.
My Grammy Fashion 2014 review was far better for men than I expected it to be. This award season men are really getting the hang of using color in a smart way, and this award show was highlighted by some really smart outside the black tux box. It was a good night for colored jackets, especially blue.
This jacket is a great shade of blue.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
These guys look great. I love the green of Macklemore’s tux, but what really steals the show is the design of Ryan Lewis’ suit. The subtler color is perfect for the more daring design.
The purple jacket pairs well with the black shirt and pants.
Neil Patrick Harris
The open neck was a look we didn’t see much of this year, but it looks good with the simple tux.
His shoes are an awesome accent to the otherwise monochromatic look. I give him extra points for working in a hat.
Kevin’s jacket has such a striking design to it.
Dark blue was a smart choice for Jamie. The whole suit looks great.
The coolest part about this outfit is the part I expected the least. I love the hint of black running up the left side of the jacket. It works well with his black shirt.
Now that you read what we thought about Grammy fashion, tell us what you thought. Who was on your best dressed list and why?
