I’m a big fan of M&M’s. As I’ve mentioned before, the strongest craving that I had when I was pregnant with G (although I never indulged in it) was a turkey leg covered in melted M&M’s. I like trying new things and I like caramel so I thought that Caramel M&M’s would probably be a win for me.
I was wrong.
The caramel is too chewy, kind of like trying to eat a tiny Twix covered in a candy shell. It didn’t have particularly good flavor, not that I could taste it very well because the amount of caramel is so scant. They were hard, chewy and not a pleasant eating experience in the least.
Thanks M&M’s but I think I’ll stick to plain or peanut after this. (Although the peanut butter ones aren’t half-bad.)
Kari Liked: I didn’t like anything about the Caramel M&M’s
Kari Didn’t Like: The whole taste and mouth feel was terrible.
The other day when I was in the store, I stumbled on the new Caramel M&M’s. I was very curious as I love caramel and I love M&Ms. I couldn’t resist. What I walked away with was that they were okay, but probably not something I would buy all the time.
For some reason, I imagined they would have liquid caramel in them, but sadly, they do not. The caramel is actually very solid. Not frozen or hard, but solid. It felt in your mouth a lot like a Rolo with a candy shell. It takes a lot of chewing, and since there’s the candy shell, you have to chew, you can’t suck like you can with a Rolo.
It was an interesting try, but I wouldn’t buy it all the time.
RJ Liked: The taste of the candy shell and the caramel.
RJ Didn’t Like: The texture of the caramel.
Have you tried Caramel M&M’s? What did you think? What’s your favorite kind of M&M candies?
